Strategic Investment Potpourri by John Maudlin
If it seems I have been talking about the Strategic Investment Conference for weeks… well, you’re right. It really was that much to unpack, and I’ve still only scratched the surface. I will wrap up next week. First, however, I want to make sure you get a few other important points. I’ve been organizing the SIC letters by subject: China, inflation, deflation, technology, and politics/geopolitics. In general, that is how I organize all my letters, typically around one topic. Vanderbilt was at the foundation of what became modern corporations, even if he and his cohorts did it to further their own ends. You’ll better understand where we are today if you understand how we began. Read more.
Markets Have Bought The Fed’s ‘Transitory’ Narrative Hook, Line And Sinker – Jesse Felder
April’s inflation figures came in hotter than expected and there are plenty of signs suggesting tomorrow’s report on May CPI will only add to that trend. As a result, you might think that markets may begin to price in an inflationary consensus. You would be wrong. Read more.

Small Cap Stocks and Microcap Stocks: Why Make an Investment?
Small cap stocks are shares of companies with a small market capitalization. This definition of “small market capitalization” varies by country, as the size of the total capital pool/GDP can differ, and thus the respective bands that define small cap, microcap or large cap stocks can vary. Generally, publicly traded equities are considered small cap stocks if their market capitalization (“market cap”) is between $300 million to $2 billion. In contrast, microcap stocks are companies that have...
